Udienza Ciancarelli

On November 6, 2018, Udienza (Udie) Ciancarelli, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother passed away at age 86. 

Udie was born on April 3, 1932 in Bronx, New York to Vito and Vita Federico.  After graduating from high school, she worked for Travelers Ins Co for several years  in Manhattan. Within a few short years, Udie met Chester Ciancarelli through a mutual friend. They quickly fell in love and were married on April 28, 1956.  Together they had 7 children, one of which was sadly lost in infancy.  Our family was raised in a large house in Smithtown with the help of our loving grandmother, Mommom. 

Udie loved her family and was great at bringing people together. She loved to host events from big Sunday dinners to birthdays, communions, graduations and whatever seemed fun at the time. Udie had a passion for connecting with people and loved getting to know them.  She could set anyone at ease with her energy and her friendly demeanor. 

Udie and Chester moved to Inverness, Florida in 1987 and lived there for more than two decades. Udie returned to Long Island in 2014 to be closer to family. 

Udie was preceded in death by her parents, precious infant daughter, Lisa Marie, and loving husband, Chester. She is survived by her children Chet(Tricia), Anita(Andy), Tom(Joan), Linda(Tony), Cynthia, Ronald (Marcus): 

Grandchildren: Leanna, Andrew, Thomas, Jessica, Nicholas, Ryan, Christopher,

Danielle, Nicco, Joseph, Nina and a growing number of great grandchildren.

She was the heart of our family and we’ll greatly miss her infectious and  sassy personality and smile.
