William Ranaldo Obituary

William (Bill) Paul Ranaldo, age 92, went to be with the Lord and reunited with his wife Helen Ranaldo on December 13th, 2018 in Brookhaven, New York. He was born to Pellegrino and Incanata Ranaldo on February 4th, 1926 and grew up in Oyster Bay, New York with his eight siblings. As part of the Third Fleet during WWII, Bill served in the Pacific Theater on the USS Monongahela in 1944 and 1945.  In addition to surviving two typhoons at sea, he and his fellow crew played roles in the Battles for Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
In 1949, Bill married Helen Carmen and they became the parents of Aileen DiCamillo, Roseann Jackson, William Ranaldo Jr., Tinamarie Conzone, Nicholas Ranaldo, and Helen McGuire. They moved to DeLand, Florida in 1993 where Bill enjoyed time outside in the garden, taking long drives and testing his luck at the casinos.  They cherished visits from family and loved hosting big Italian meals where all could gather to laugh and tell stories. Bill was brave, determined, and resourceful in supporting his family.  He is survived by four of his siblings Marie, Helen, Millie and Johnny, all of his six children, thirteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
