Moran, Alice Bailey, 99 years old of Stony Brook, NY and formerly of Nissequogue, NY, passed away on April 14, 2022.  Devoted wife of the late Arthur S. Moran. Loving mother of Lauretta (James) Haag, Arthur (Susan) Moran, JoAnn Polakoff, Marguerite (William) O'Dwyer, and Marilyn (David) Michaels. Precious grandmother of Allison, James, Kathryn, Arthur, Christopher, Michael, Kristina, Lauren, William, Thomas, Christine, Alexander and Jennifer. Treasured great-grandmother of 23 and sister-in-law to Jean Bailey. Alice was predeceased by her daughter Alice Marie, her father Charles, her beloved mother Laura as well as her brother Charles.

Her Catholic faith was central to Alice's life and guided her in the support and care of others. She was a teacher for many years with the Smithtown Central School District and a dedicated faith formation and RCIA catechist at Sts. Philip and James Church in St. James, NY. She was also the founder of the senior group at Sts. Philip and James and spent many happy hours with the group. Family members sought Alice's sound counsel and always appreciated her encouragement and support. She was a friend to many over her long life.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 19th 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at St. James Funeral Home, 829 Middle Country Rd, St James, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 20th at 10:15 a.m. at Sts. Philip and James Church in St. James, NY. Internment at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Alice's memory to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul or Birthright of Long Island.
