ARTHUR FREDERICK RIVERS

March 28, 1933- July 16, 2023

Arthur Frederick Rivers (Art) passed away on July 16th, 2023 and fulfilled his wish "to go home".

Art was married to his wife Mary Ann for over 68 years. They met roller-skating when one of them went to the other's roller rink to skate.

Art had several jobs throughout his life, Tax searcher, bank president and president of his and Mary Ann's business, Hometown Insurance Agency. In his younger years Art enjoyed flying and received his private pilot's license (quite a feat with sight only in one eye) . In his later years, he and Mary Ann became avid ballroom dancers. Art was a member of the Nesconset Fire Department for over 66 years.

Secretary/treasurer for over 40 years of that same department.

Originated a camping club in the 1960's called the "Islanders".

Art is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann and their children, Steven, Annette, Amy & Gary. Grandchildren, Amanda, A.J., Victor and Aidan.

Great-grandchildren, Bradley and Charlotte.

Art taught his family to never give up and to face whatever adversity came their way. He modeled this in his own life. We now mourn and celebrate 90 years of laughs, happiness, tears and joy. Life is a journey and we're so glad we got to go on it with you.
