Catherine Schiefer was born on January 30, 1926 in the City of New York to an Irish Catholic family. She was one of six children and went on to marry Henry Schiefer in 1948, and later had five children. Catherine passed away on June 9, 2022 at the age of 96.

Catherine lived a very faith filled life. She was a member of the Franciscan Order and served as a catechist at Sts. Philip and James Roman Catholic Church. She is a long-time resident of St. James for over 50 years where she raised her children and played a large role in the lives of her grandchildren. Some of her greatest loves were caring for family, cooking, tending to her home and garden, and listening to music by Frank Sinatra & Andrea Bocelli.

Catherine is predeceased by her husband Henry, her daughter Regina, her siblings Joseph, Phillip, William, Anne, and Mary, and her parent's James & Delia Carthy.

Catherine is survived by her loving children, Paul & Charlene, Robert & Maria, Bernadette, and Thomas & Cheryl.

Catherine is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren George & Brianna, Kaitlyn, Renee, Lauren, Jack, Lisa, Christopher, Jayson, and her great grandchildren George, Austin, Alex, Mackenzie, and Madison.
