Cathleen A Gensinger of Wading River, NY passed away at age 74 on September 20, 2023.

Cathleen was born on September 30, 1948 to Alice and Medard Ofenloch of Hicksville, NY.

She graduated from Hicksville High School and shortly thereafter was married to her loving husband Dennis on October 22, 1966, a few years later they started their family. Cathleen and Dennis moved to Selden, NY in 1972 where they raised their family until 2020 when they moved to Wading River, NY.

Cathleen was very involved with her children's daily activities in and out of school as class mom, PTA president, Cub Scout Leader and Religious Education Teacher. She worked as a home health aide for many years and then for Stony Brook Hospital as a supervisor in the medical billing office until she retired. Cathleen loved being around family and friends. She loved spending time after she retired with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would spend hours sitting doing crafts with them. Cathleen loved spending time at her summer home in Pennsylvania with her husband, or going to Myrtle Beach to enjoy the sun and warm weather, as she called it her happy place. Cathleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who was caring, generous and always putting everyone before herself. She was always there to help her family anyway possible. She had a heart of gold and would open her home to anyone in need. Cathleen has touched the hearts of so many people throughout her life and is loved by so many. She is adored by her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.

Cathleen is survived by her husband Dennis, her 5 children Denise, Dennis (Maryann), Cathleen Flanagan (Brian), Paul (Jessica) and Mark (Kimberly), as well as her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation to be held at St James Funeral Home, 829 Middle Country Rd, St. James, NY on Tuesday September 26th and Wednesday September 27th from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pmFuneral Mass to be held at St. Margaret of Scotland, 81 College Rd, Selden, NY on Thursday September 28th at 10:00am and to immediately follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3442 Route 112, Coram, NY 11727
