It is with great sadness and love that we mourn the loss of David Ehlers on January 23, 2021. A die hard Red Sox fan, he was born in Massachusetts but had been a resident of Smithtown since 1967. For over 36 years he worked as a carpenter for Smithtown Central School District. Always up to any challenge, Dave was proud to be a part of the restoration work performed at the Vanderbilt Museum. He was a devoted family man and is survived by his loving wife of almost 30 years Cynthea and his adoring children Erika and David as well as his sisters Dawn and Daria, brothers in law Steven and Glenn, and five nieces and nephew. Dave had the honor of acquiring an immeasurable amount of friends, all who will miss him dearly. The true Salt of the Earth, he will never be forgotten.
