Obituary

The world lost a wonderful, goofy, and selfless man. Douglas spent 40 years building a beautiful life with his wife Diana, singing, boating and playing his guitar. He will forever be loved by his three children, Jennifer (Robert Schaumburg), Jacquelyn (Daniel Williams), and Douglas (Sarah Pope), and his four granddaughters, River, Margot, Maeve, and Bernadette.

Doug always wanted to be surrounded by his family; he brought everyone together with his voice, and his guitar. He loved his dog Harry, he was a movie buff and a sci-fi nerd. He was humorous, always thinking he was the funniest in the room, and only sometimes right. He drag-raced, loved baseball (Let's Go Mets), going to concerts, and sipping on rum punch. Road trips with his family, dinner out with his friends, working on classic cars and riding his motorcycle. Doug could fix anything with his hands and passed on these talents to his children.

He was truly a perfect man, a man who put everyone in front of him, so he could watch their backs. A legend who will never die in our hearts. Here's to you Doug, may the heavens hold you dearly and continue to share your legacy in spirit with us all. We love you.

He will forever be remembered by his family, including his mother Janet Williams, his sister Gail (Eric Nash), his brothers-in-law Nicholas (Campion) and Russell (Campion) and their families.
