Joanne Urso of St. James, Long Island, N.Y., passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, September 7th, 2022, at the age of 69 from her battle with ALS.  Joanne was born July 3rd, 1953 in Huntington, Long Island, NY.  She is the oldest daughter to Roger and Catherine Scharbach.

Over the years, Joanne enjoyed working as an office manager for a family practice in Stony Brook and then moved on to work for Suffolk County assisting in workers compensation cases.

She is survived by her father Roger Scharbach, sister Susan Arslanian, husband John Urso, and three daughters Christine MenDell, Kimberly  Cunningham, and Loriann Urso-Miezianka.  Joanne lived for family and is so proud of her three grandchildren: Thomas Cunningham (age 9), AJ MenDell (age 8) and Karina Cunningham (age 7).

She was a wonderful, caring, and selfless woman, who was always there for us in all aspects of our lives.
