John Eric Johnston, age 70 of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on November 10, 2022. He was born on October 12, 1952 in New York City. Predeceased by cherished parents John and Gisela Johnston (nee Grundmann).Survived by brothers Victor and Jeff (Amy) as well as nephews Timothy and Erik  and nieces Amanda and Morgan and Victoria. John was born in New York City and moved to St James, NY where he graduated from Smithtown Central High School in 1970. John worked many jobs throughout his life as a plumber, building maintenance, and insurance salesman. His life's passion were sports cars, motorcycles, and camping. He left home at any early age on his motorcycle and lived in Louisiana, California, and Arizona where he settled in 1978.

A free-spirited man, John was a generous person who was always willing to help someone in need. He will be missed by all.
