Kevin J. Casey passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025. He was born on February 18, 1959, to Joseph P. and Patricia A. (Butler) Casey.

Kevin graduated from Smithtown East High School in 1977, where he met the love of his life, Eileen McDonough. The two married on May 22, 1982, after Kevin began his career with the Local 28 Sheet Metal Workers Union in New York City and Long Island.

Kevin was exceptionally proud of his 40-year career in sheet metal. He began his apprenticeship in 1978 and later became a Union Representative for Local 28, covering the East Side of Manhattan. He was subsequently appointed Director of Certification for the National Energy Management Institute Committee (NEMIC) under the International Sheet Metal Workers Union, a role he served in until his retirement in 2018.

Following the events of September 11th, Kevin played a vital role in coordinating the installation of more than 50 restrooms, eye wash stations, and showers at Ground Zero. Working closely with local sheet metal shops, as well as steamfitter and plumbing unions, he helped ensure essential facilities were quickly put in place for responders. For his dedication, he received a Certificate of Award from the City of New York.

Kevin was the beloved father of Kevin Jr. (Helen), Shannon Kogel (Devin), Courtney Casey (Brendan Bulfin), and James (Leidy). He was a proud and devoted Papa to Cameron, Callen, Elizabeth, Ronan, and Vivian.

He is survived by his brother, Michael Casey (Lisa) of Rhode Island, and his sisters, Maureen Agid (Paul) of Denver, Colorado, and Aileen Wendelewski (Stanley) of Houston, Texas. Kevin is also survived by many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and his cherished pets—his dog Clyde and his cats Rascal and Smoky.

Services

Visitation will be held at St. James Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 2, from 2:00–5:00 p.m. and 7:00–10:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will take place at Sts. Philip & James Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 3, at 11:15 a.m.
