Ovarian cancer whispers .... so make sure you listen.

One of the reasons that ovarian cancer is so deadly is that in its early stages, it rarely causes any symptoms. Unfortunately, this means that it often goes undetected until it's too late....and is the reason ovarian cancer is often called a silent killer.

The late stage symptoms that do begin to appear can very easily be mistaken for non-threatening conditions like abdominal bloating or swelling, difficulty eating or feeling full quickly, lack of appetite, weight gain or loss, discomfort in pelvis, frequent urination, constipation, a change in menstrual periods and irritable bowel syndrome, to name a few.

If you experience any of these symptoms for more than two to three weeks, speak with your doctor and specifically ask if you could have ovarian cancer.

Ovarian cancer is the fifth most common cancer in women and the most common cause of gynecologic cancer deaths.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of an effective screening strategy, ovarian cancer is often diagnosed at an advanced stage.

Only about 20% of ovarian cancers are found at an early stage. When ovarian cancer is found early, about 94% of patients live longer than 5 years after diagnosis.

Early detection saves lives. Share this information with those you love.❤️
