Obituary

Ms. Lisa Ann Masella Abrignani passed away in the early morning on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the age of 61.    A longtime resident of Commack, New York she was a dedicated mother to her children, daughter, JoeyLynn and son Frankie, his wife Rosemarie and their children Luca and Alessandra, as well as her spouse of seventeen years, Donald Bonaocorsa.

Lisa is survived by her older sibling Lori Masella, and her younger sister Dina Frechen and brother- in- law John, her niece Alexa and daughter Rhyan, nieces Cassidy, and Madison.  She leaves behind her beloved Gracie, her Great Dane that was always a comfort to her.  Her mother Shirley Masella, and father Alfred Masella have also recently passed.

Lisa was a medical secretary for almost fifteen years.  However, she was more than just a secretary she understood the human condition and had compassion for those that were sick.  Her empathy was heartfelt as she understood the pain and emotional duress of being ill herself.  Her patients were so pleased with her connection she made with them and that went a long way in their care.  They often send her thank you cards to tell them how much she was appreciated.

As a pastime, Lisa loved getting together with her children, family and friends.  This was the highlight of her life.  She wanted to entertain people, to enjoy great conversations and cook some of her special homemade foods and desserts.  Lisa wanted her home to be a safe place for gathering, a place of comfort where much discussion and discourse went on.  This gave her great joy.

Lisa was a warrior.  She was strong and courageous and often downplayed her illness.  In the end, she fought for her life and to enjoy more time with her children. She was a giver and thought whatever she did was not enough but that was her perception and not those of others.  Nonetheless, it kept her pushing forward to do more.  Lisa gave of herself until her final moments.  She will sadly be missed by so many and her legacy to her children will live on in the hearts and memories of those who loved her so much.
