Loida Maquiran, 90 years old, of Stony Brook, New York, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving daughters.

Born on August 16, 1936, in Iloilo, Philippines, Loida was the beloved daughter of Arsenio Dusaban and Fe Gerochi. She lived a beautiful and blessed life filled with laughter, faith, friendship, and a deep love for her family.

Loida loved traveling with her late husband, Jorge Maquiran, and together they created many cherished memories. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and bringing family and friends together through the lavish parties she loved to host. She had an infectious smile, a wonderful sense of humor, and a playful spirit. She especially enjoyed sharing her famous “green jokes,” which often brought laughter to her family and many friends.

Above all, Loida will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her strong faith, her compassion, and the joy she brought to those around her. She had a special way of making people feel welcomed and loved.

Loida is survived by her five children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Marie Lynn Maquiran, whose memory remained forever in her heart. Her daughters, who were by her side during her final moments, will miss her more than words can express. Her love, laughter, guidance, and presence will remain forever in their hearts.

Family and friends are invited to attend her wake and funeral Mass on October 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. James Funeral Home, located at 829 Middle Country Road, Route 25, St. James, New York 11780.

Loida lived a blessed and meaningful life surrounded by the love of her family. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all whose lives she touched.
