Sassone, Lorraine Lucille, age 91, of Hauppauge, New York, on Friday, March 12, 2021.  Pre-deceased by her loving husband Joseph, who she married in 1950, and raised six children with: Judy (Ray) Chesley, the late Maria, Richard (Marianne), Susan, Michael, and Joseph (Anne Marie).  Proud grandmother to 11 and great-grandmother to eight.  Visitation will be at St. James Funeral Home, on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 9;30 -  10:45 AM with funeral mass at St. Patrick's Church in Smithtown at 11:15 AM.  Interment to immediately follow at St. Charles's Cemetery.  Lorraine will be remembered as a quiet and kind, yet strong and determined soul who cared passionately for her family.  She was a champion for the disabled, having been the primary caregiver to her own disabled daughter her entire life.  In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests expressions of sympathy as donations in Lorraine's name to the AHRC DONATE | ahrc-suffolk.
