Luigi
Volpe
Oct 31, 1934 — Dec 30, 2023
Luigi Volpe of Smithtown passed away December 30, 2023 surrounded by his family. Luigi was born October 31, 1934, in Copersito, Salerno, Italy. At the age of eighteen, he immigrated to the United States and pursued his passion as a barber, where he developed lifetime friendships through his clients. In 1957, he returned to Italy and married his sweetheart, Antonietta. Upon their return to the United States, they raised their family in Brooklyn, New York, and then moved to Hauppauge, Long island. His legacy lives through his children, Josephine (Antonio), Lou (Carol), and Silvia (Mike, pre-deceased). He was the most proud Nonno to nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He will be remembered most for his love of music, and his creativity such as bird houses, mini champagne wire chairs, and his attention to details and perfection. To know Luigi, was to love him. Luigi's wish was in lieu of flowers, please donate to American Cancer Society.
