Obituary

It is with great sadness and much love that we mourn the loss of Otto J. Schindlar on January 19,2021. Otto is survived by his wife Patricia of 57 years, his four children Bill (Alayne), Dan (Lisa), Curt (Chrissy), Christine (John) and his eleven grandchildren.

Otto proudly served in the United States Navy and was a dedicated Police Officer in the Nassau County Police Department for 35 years. Otto was born and raised in Flushing, NY, he raised his family in Wantagh and retired in Stonybrook.

Otto was a dedicated and loving family man.  He enjoyed vacationing, golf and being outdoors.  Otto was extremely proud of each one of his grandchildren, Daniel, Lucas, Brandon, Dana, Sierra, Sophia, Lauren, Katherine, Haley, Chloe and Megan.

As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to a Scholarship Fund in Otto's name.  Please make checks payable to: ARPO (Association of Retired Police Officers).
