On Wednesday, February 9th, 2022 at 8am Patricia Maureen Warner (nee Melbourne), loving Mother of one & adoring Nana of two passed away at the age of 84. Patricia was born in South Ozone Park, NY to Joseph Anthony Melbourne & Margaret Susan Melbourne (nee Brady) on March 22nd, 1937. Patricia was mother to Marc Stanton Warner of Medford, NY and mother in law to Jaclyn Diane Warner.  She was beloved by her grandchildren Abigail Grace Warner & Cole Stanton Warner. She's survived by her younger brother Joseph Anthony Melbourne Jr. of Mount Kisco, NY. She received her Nursing Degree from Brooklyn College and also attended Adelphi University.  She was a Registered Nurse specializing in Psychiatry.  She worked at Pilgrim State, Kings Park Psychiatric Center and had her longest tenure and retired from the Central Islip Psychiatric Center working on the New York State Geriatric Screening Team.  She also worked at Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson in their Psych Ward for 11 years. She enjoyed travelling especially to Aruba which she had gone to 3 of the last 4 years with her son and his family.  This was a yearly tradition they did together for 2 weeks in August.  She loved the beach hence her move to Florida in 2000 after she retired from Nursing.  She loved her pets throughout her life most recently her Cairn Terrier Brady & her cat PJ whom she rescued after a Florida Hurricane.  She was compassionate and caring for others, friends or not. She will be remembered and celebrated with a wake on Saturday, February 12th, 2022 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm.  The wake will take place at St. James Funeral Home at 829 Middle Country Road in St. James, NY 11780.

Patt had a love of both dogs and Aruba, so we thought it would be fitting for those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Sgt. Pepper's Friends in Patricia M. Warner's name. We know she would be extremely happy to support this great non-profit organization which rescues, fosters, and finds homes for abandoned dogs and cats.
