Robert
Craine
d. Jan 14, 2025
St. James
Craine, Robert ("Bob") D.- 78, proud resident of Nissequogue passed away on January 14, 2025. Son of John and Alice Craine, Bob grew up in Albertson, NY with his siblings Johnny (Mickey), Dennis (Carol), and the late Mary Alice (Jim). As a 42 year teacher for the Commack School District, he shared his love of auto mechanics and passed down the woodworking skills of his father. He tirelessly dedicated his time and talents to his community through his service as a Chief, firefighter, and EMT-CC with both the Nissequogue and St. James Fire Departments. He also proudly served as Secretary for the Fire Chiefs Council of Suffolk County. Bob was a familiar face to the parishioners at Sts. Philip and James Church, serving through the years as a Religious Education teacher and later as an usher. While his generosity in his community was great, anything would pale in comparison to his commitment to his family. Bob was the husband and father that never failed to show up and "do." The hearts of his wife and children will always be filled with memories of his dedication and love. Nothing made Bob happier than seeing his family happy and growing. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Trudy. He is the father of Robert, Jr. (Leah), Kevin (Annie), Daniel (Michelle) and Andrea (Tim), and "Pops" to 16 grandchildren. Bob served many years on the fundraising committees of his beloved fire departments. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made in his honor to the Nissequogue or St. James Fire Departments.
