Thomas H. Ryan, a lifelong resident of St. James NY passed away at Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook NY at 87 years of age.

Tom was born on May 26th 1935 to Thomas Henry Ryan and Helen Ann Ryan nee Wolf.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Rosemarie, his daughters Helen R. Abrams nee Ryan, Elizabeth Kim Toth nee Ryan and Denise M. Sofoklis nee Ryan. His sons-in-law Harry A. Abrams, Matthew Toth and Andreas P. Sofoklis. Tom is much loved by his three grandchildren Samantha Marie Sofoklis, Sonya-Rose Anne Sofoklis and Matthew Ryan Toth.

Tom is predeceased by his parents; his siblings James T. Ryan, Phillip W. Ryan and Helen June Hopt; his daughter JoAnn Ryan and his son Thomas H. Ryan (Tom Tom).

Tom was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. Then began a 29 year career with the Suffolk County Police Department, starting with the Fourth Precinct and continuing his Police journey as a charter member of the Crime Scene Division and retired January 21st, 1991. Tom was an avid mariner and loved the waters of North Shore Long Island. He also loved camping out at Hither Hills, Montauk and in retirement Upstate NY.
