Kiernan- Thomas F Jr on May 14, 2021. Predeceased by his sisters Marie Bourguignon and Marjory Weglein, beloved uncle to Thomas (Evelyn), Debra (Charlie), Michael (Karen), James, Donna (Mark), Paul (Jill) and Christine. Grand uncle to Julia, Jamie, James, Catherine, Britteny, Gabrielle, Taylor,  Spencer, Lexey, Clay, Michael, Brianne, Rachel, Christopher, Michelle, Laura, Lindsay, Ashley, Michele and Justin. Thomas was a US Navy Veteran served from 1962 to 1965 at Naval Air Station Floyd Bennet Field with the Crash Rescue Fire Department. He was a lifelong volunteer Fireman, first with the Rockville Centre Defender Hose Company No. 1 from 1961 to 1967. When he moved to Stony Brook in 1967, he joined the Stony Brook Fire Department (SBFD).  He was an ex-Captain and ex-commissioner at SBFD and remained a member up until his passing where in his later years he lent support , encouragement and shared his years of experience.  He was an Usher and a regular for the early masses at Sts. Phillip and James Church in St James. Reposing Friday 4 – 8pm at St James Funeral home, Funeral mass Saturday 11:45 at Sts. Phillip and James RC Church, St James.
