Adrian Erias, 90, of Stony Brook, NY passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024. Born in New York City on November 11, 1933, as the son of Manuel Erias and Assunta Zambelli. A beloved husband, grandfather, and friend, he will be fondly remembered for his service in the United States Army and as a lieutenant for the Fire Department of New York.
A true Renaissance man, we remember Adrian as many things; a basketball player, cook, traveler, wood-worker, avid reader, softball pitcher, cartoonist, self-taught historian, and cigar aficionado. Adrian was a lifelong learner, curious about the world in which he lived, and inspired others to do the same.
Adrian was deeply loved and will be missed by his wife of 66 years, Barbara; his daughter Margaret and husband Rob; daughter Elizabeth and husband Robert; his grandchildren Emilia, Alexander, Marco and wife Morgan, Isabel, and Ava; his two great grandchildren Walter and Colette. He was preceded in death by his two sons, Alexander and Bernard. He is survived by his sister, Linda McMahon.
A funeral mass will be held on August 22 at Saints Philip & James RC Church with interment to follow at Holy SepulchreCemetery. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in honoring Adrian and celebrating his life.
