Albert Paul Hofmann

Albert was born March 3,1933, and passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024.  Albert was predeceased by his beloved wife Kathryn.  He was also predeceased by his son Peter James.  He is survived by his children Richard (Gail), Carolyn, Suzanne (Camilo) and Barbara (John), as well as 8 loving grandchildren: Shaun, Ross, Michael, Matthew, John, Stephanie, Amanda and Stephen. He is also survived by his sister Eileen Byrnes, his brother Jack Hofmann, and many nieces and nephews.  Albert was born in Queens NY.  He attended Brooklyn Tech.  He served his country in the U.S. Army. After the Army he began his career working for IBM and then Simplex Time Recorder for 40 years.  He had his pilot’s license and flew small aircraft. He loved classical music, the Giants, Mets and Rangers, and he loved his food. The most important aspect of his life was the light of his life, his wife Kathryn.  They knew each other for over 80 years, and were married for 67 years.  Everyone who met Al knew he was cherished by his family and friends. He was always willing to help anyone, and was there when anyone needed him.  Al will be missed by all and always in our hearts.
