Alexandria Hegarty Obituary

Alexandria Nichole Hegarty, beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, niece, aunt and teacher passed away January 15, 2026 at the age of 38, after a five year battle with ocular melanoma, surrounded by love and comfort.

From the moment Alex entered this world she filled a room with her energy and presence. As a child, she was extremely chatty, very funny, and endlessly curious.

As a woman, she became a true force. She worked tirelessly to be the best teacher possible for her students, continually taking classes and seeking opportunities to grow so she could better serve her kiddos.

As a mother, knowing her time with Hudson might be cut short, she “mommed” hard. She loved with her whole heart and worked every day to guide, nurture, and influence him in all the ways that mattered most. Her legacy will live on through her amazing son, Hudson, her students that she adored, and her family and friends that will never forget how she impacted our lives.

Alex is survived by her husband, Anthony Hegarty; their beloved son, Hudson Hegarty; her mother, Barbara Carstens; her mother-in-law Lorraine Hegarty; her father-in-law Robert Hegarty; her sister, Elizabeth Carstens, and her husband,  Zachary Butterfield; her sister, Kristin Masciarelli, and her husband, Matthew Masciarelli; her brother-in-law Robert Hegarty and his wife Audra Hegarty; her nephews and niece, Jack Masciarelli, Emily Butterfield, Sam Masciarelli, Greyson Hegarty.  Alex is also survived by many loving cousins, aunts, uncles, and an incredible circle of friends.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a GoFundMe to help support Anthony and Hudson as they begin their new chapter without Alex.
