Annette Doris Obituary

We lovingly remember Annette Doris of St. James, New York, who passed away on May 12, 2022 at the age of 88. Wife of the late Bernard Doris, she was the mother of Frank, Jamie and Matthew, and grandmother of Eli, Lilah, Dylan, and Renee. and loved her extended family of children, siblings, in-laws and friends.

Born in Connecticut, Annette moved to Brooklyn, New York and settled in Smithtown to raise her family, eventually moving to St. James. She was an exceptionally warm and caring person, with a positive attitude towards life, and always had a kind word to say. Annette was creative and artistic, and cherished art and music, from the masterworks of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci to the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright and Edward Durell Stone, to the music of the Beatles and Pink Floyd. She loved flowers, dogs, crafts, many other things, and most of all, her family.

In lieu of flowers, Annette asked that donations should be made to the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, 371 East Jericho Turnpike, Smithtown, NY 11787-2976, 631-930-9000, https://www.guidedog.org.

A eulogy by Rev. Neil Mittelstaedt will be given at 12:30 PM.
