Barbara LoPresto, 84, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and dog mom passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, July 29, 2024.
Barbara was born to Edward and Virginia Clark in New York, NY in 1940. She graduated in 1957 from Hicksville HS. She later received her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Columbia University, and went on to live a fulfilling life of service and kindness, working full-time until the age of 81.
Barbara was a devoted member of St. James Episcopal Church since moving to her cherished St.James home in 1967. She most enjoyed being with her family. Other passions include antiquing, bird watching, world traveling, shopping, cooking, and spending time with her best buddy, Bella.
Barbara will be remembered by her children, Paula, Billy, Karen (Mike), and Jennifer (Jim); her grandchildren Grace (Luka), Julia (Ryan), Benjamin, William, James, Clark, and Ben; sister and brother-in-law Louise and Bill Ramos; as well as innumerable relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Benjamin LoPresto.
Visitation will be held at St. James Funeral Home on Friday, August 2nd from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00 PM.
The funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 3rd at St. James Episcopal Church at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Barbara’s name to The North Shore Animal League. It would make her very happy.
