Barbara Paciella Obituary

Barbara Paciella, our loving mother, Nana and great Nana, passed away on August 6th, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Barbara was born to Gabriel and Anna Varga in Bayshore NY on July 16th, 1942. Her sister is Lorraine Jester, residing in Williamsburg Va.

Barbara was the loving mother to Bernadette Paciella-Johnston (Glenn), Frank John Anthony Paciella (who passed away at 7 months old), Ronald Paciella (Jean), Linda Paciella (Michael), Barbara Bauer (Richard), Frank Gabriel Paciella (Ellen) and Jason Paciella (Mary).

Barbara was a loving Nana to TJ, Justin, Chris, Marissa, Mark, Dina, Michael, Gary, Leslie, Alana, Jordan, Jackie, James, Danielle, Kelly, Gabriel, Christian, Cassandra, Emily and James.

Barbara was a loving Great-Nana to Justin, Daniel, Faith, Michael, Joshua, Joseph, Ian, Deven, Jade, Brenna, Anthony, James, Emma, Olivia, Ella, Leila, Owen, Jake, and Jordan

She loved her family so much. She loved Jesus Christ; she was a Christian. Her faith was so strong, and she shared it with her family, friends and people she met.

Barbara loved cats, painting, writing, cooking, and visiting her family and sharing food. She loved her cuisine. She loved history and her favorite place was going to Williamsburg, Va. She also loved the mountains, trees and waterfalls in upstate New York. Trees made her so happy.

Barbara was a nurse’s aide at the Lutheran Nursing Center. She was a minibus driver, which she loved! She always enjoyed driving. She sang in the choir and was part of the Cantata’s at Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle.  She was also a religion teacher.

Barbara had a great sense of humor and a wonderful imagination.

Her greatest memories as a child was being on the water crabbing and fishing with her parents. She said she would talk to the fish, and that is how she was able to catch them.
