Benard Sussman was born and raised in Brooklyn NY. He was drafted into the Army and served our country in Vietnam for 19 months from March, 1968 to October,1969. He earned several medals including 2 purple hearts and 4 bronze stars. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He worked as a telephone company repairman for 30 years. He retired at the age of 53 and enjoyed his life traveling to Puerto Rico often.
He raised his family in Queens Village, NY and then moved to Franklin Square, Long Island. He is survived by his beloved wife Nelida (Diaz), his children Scott and Leslie, his son-in-law Lino, his grandchildren Gabrielle, Joseph and Tyler, his brother Lewis and many cherished nieces and nephews.
He loved to play cards, he enjoyed winning at the casino and was a lifelong Yankees fan.
