It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Catherine Tabacco who was born May 20, 1929 and who left us on December 29, 2023 at the age of 94.
Cathy, born in the borough of Brooklyn, was a longtime resident of both St. James and Stony Brook, NY. She is survived by her brother, Phil Cimino; her children, John Tabacco and Laura Serpico (Marty); her grandchild, Cassandra Serpico; godchild, Suzy McGarrigal; and cherished grand dog, Buttons. Cathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Frank.
A luminary in her craft, Cathy was a two-time cover feature in 'Miniature Collector Magazine' for her award-winning miniature creations. Her artistic talent extended beyond miniatures; her oil and watercolor paintings graced galleries across Long Island. A masterful jewelry designer, a top-notch seamstress, and an expert in the fine art of antique restoration, Cathy’s talents knew no bounds. Her life was a testament to creative expression lived on her own terms.
