Christopher Carney Obituary

Christopher A. Carney of St. James NY

Born December 15th, 1983 Died August 13th, 2021

Beloved Husband to Jennifer (Occhipinti) and Devoted Father to Gavin (14) and Brianna (9)

Loving son to Michael and Maria (Sweeney) Treasured Brother to Michael, Kristin (Kustek) and Patrick

Cherished Grandson to Mike and Carole (Sweeney) Helen and Thomas (Carney)

A fun and loving Uncle to Owen and Cole (Occhipinti) and very much loved by his in-laws Peter and Terry (Occhipinti) John and Kristy (Occhipinti)

Blessed with a large extended family and an enormous group of friends

Chris devoted his life to helping others.  He was a Retired FDNY Fireman (TL-117), Town of Hempstead Lifeguard and Volunteer Fireman with the Hempstead Fire Department (Ladder 2) Diagnosed with Cancer at the young age of 25, he gave a fight like no other for 12 years.  He never gave up and would use humor as a way to keep fighting in some of the darkest times.  He had a natural way of making people laugh and love him.  Chris was a passionate NY Islanders fan.  He was truly a one-of-a-kind person that can never be replaced.  We will miss him dearly but our memories of him will live on forever.
