Christopher Mackin, 66, passed away on April 11, 2022 in Manhattan, NY.
The fourth eldest of fifteen siblings, Christopher was born on September 10, 1955
to his beloved and predeceased mother Margaret Fulgham.
Christopher grew up in Hicksville, NY and graduated Hicksville High
School in 1974. After high school, Christopher went on to become a trichologist
and quickly captured the recognition of celebrities. Such notable clients included
Meg Ryan, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, Annie Leibowitz, Barbara Walters, Mary
Tyler Moore, Carly Simon, Carole King, Denise Richards, and many more.
Christopher worked at the renowned Elizabeth Arden Salon on 5th Avenue and
developed his own hair product line. Christopher was remarkably talented and
featured on QVC, Good Morning America, NBC Today Show, Lifetime Network,
and Home Shopping Network. He was also highlighted in Vogue, Allure, Glamour,
Self, Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, NY Times, NY Observer, and the NY Post.
Christopher was a loving uncle, brother, and friend. He always had an open
heart to anyone he met, especially anyone less fortunate than him. Christopher
spent many hours helping at the local soup kitchen and was always willing to spare
what he had for anyone he met on the street. Christopher was also a lover of all
animals, especially his dogs, Aspen and Buddha, and his cat, Oreo. Christopher
was always regarded as a caring and fun uncle, that you could always count on for
a good time. A room full of laughter and smiles always meant Christopher was in
the room. Christopher had life-long friendships with people all around the world
and his heart was always devoted to caring for each and every one of his
relationships.
Christopher is predeceased by his stepfather Maurice Fulgham and is
survived by his 15 siblings, 8 brother and sister-in-laws, 24 nieces and nephews,
and 8 great-nieces and nephews. Christopher’s loving heart, lust for life and
laughter will be greatly missed by all.
