David Summerfield Obituary

David Summerfield, beloved son, father, brother, and uncle, passed away on September 20, 2025, at the age of 38, after a brief illness.

David was the devoted father of his greatest joy, his daughter Addison.

He treasured every moment they spent together—whether fishing, camping, traveling to new places, taking night walks, or simply watching movies side by side.  Their time together was filled with love, laughter, and an unbreakable bond that will live on in Addison’s heart forever.

He was the cherished son of Elaine Demy and William Summerfield, and loving stepson of Steven Demy. He is also survived by his brother Daniel Summerfield and sister-in-law Amanda, and was a proud and loving uncle to his niece and nephew, Mackenzie and Carter.

Born in Manhasset, New York, David lived a life rooted in service, compassion, and courage. After graduating from the Paramedic Program at St. John’s University, he began his career in the private sector before joining the FDNY as a paramedic. Driven by an unwavering commitment to helping others, David later fulfilled his dream of becoming a firefighter with the FDNY.

Outside of his professional life, David found camaraderie and purpose as a proud member of the Florian Knights Motorcycle Club—an organization committed to strengthening the brotherhood among firefighters who share a passion for riding and a mission to serve their communities through charitable work and outreach.

David’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him — especially his daughter Addison, who was the light of his life.

He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always honored.
