Denise Hervey

Denise Hervey, 65, of St. James, NY born on June 10, 1958 and passed away on April 7, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her sister Kathleen and son Brian. She is survived by her husband of 40 years Craig and sons Christopher, and Matthew, her daughter-in-laws Rachel and Toni Hervey and her grandson Matthew Brian. 

A dedicated wife and mother she was the rock of her family and displayed unconditional love, compassion and care for all that she came in contact with. Often described as selfless and the nicest person in the room, her goal and focus was always on others and enriching their lives. There truly was not a bad bone in her body. Things were no different in her professional life where she was a passionate educator for 20+ years.

As much as she loved her family and students, she loved her Golden Retrievers just as much. A devoted dog lover she was never without a dog by her side and treated them as though they were truly part of the family. As an avid gardener she filled many days at the nursery and in her garden constructing her perfect garden. She was also no stranger to the beach and that was one of her true happy places. 

Denise will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, happiness and most importantly her smile that lit up any room and made all around her feel better.
