Diane Tynebor (Schonning), 77, of Coram, NY passed away peacefully on April 7th, 2024.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Diane. She was a nurturing mother to four children Chris (Kim), Erik (Kelly), Rob (Erin), and Kristin. Diane was also a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and sister to Linda Schonning. Born and raised in Wantagh, NY, Diane lived a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. She had an extraordinary bond with her Havanese dogs over the years, who brought immense joy and companionship to her life. Whether it was taking them for walks or cuddling on the couch watching TV, her love for her furry friends was unwavering. In addition, she shared other passions with friends such as boating, her enthusiasm for dancing, and music. Beyond her hobbies and passions, Diane cherished her lifelong friendships deeply. She was a loyal and caring friend, always there to provide support, lend an ear, or share a laugh. Her friendships were a testament to her kind and devoted nature.
In honor of Diane 's dedication to a career and education in teaching students with visual impairments, the family kindly requests no flowers. Instead, they encourage donations to be made in her memory to Guide Dog Foundation, Smithtown, NY (Guidedog.org). This organization is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people who are blind, have low vision, or have other disabilities.
