Edward Perras Obituary

Edward T. Perras, 97, of Deer Park, NY passed away on 12/25/21 after COVID pneumonia.

Edward was born on 4/28/24 to Joseph and Margaret Perras in Lowell, Mass. After Edward graduated from Lowell High School, he took classes in drafting. Edward served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War and World War ll. Serving on USS Stoddard #566 -1.5 yrs in Korean War and USS Guam #CB2-1.5 yrs and USS Coswell #651, 1.5 yrs WW2.

Edward worked as a Tool and Die Machinist until 73 years of age. Edward met May O'Reilly, from Boston, Mass. and married in 1948. Eddie and May went on to have 2 children, Sandy and Donna; and 4 grandchildren Christina, Paulette, Cassandra & Philip.

Dad was a wonderful family man always providing for the family, being present and active in their lives and activities, working 2 jobs, practicing softball with us, visiting us every Sunday, an original "MacGyver" building a rabbit cage and go-cart, repairing his car in the driveway, making home repairs and painting the house, riding bikes at Belmont Lake Park, encouraging us in school, and taking joy in the birth of his grand and great-grand children. Dad was an animal lover having different family dogs over his life-time.

In 1997 Edward retired to spend his time with his wife and family.
