Giacomo Consenz Obituary

The family of Giacomo J. Consenz, age 82 wish to notify you of his sudden passing on May 11, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Giacomo was born on January 9, 1939, in Brooklyn to Joseph and Amelia, and graduated from Brooklyn Polytech Institute with a master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering.  He served our country as an Army 1st Lieutenant in the 84th Engineering Company stationed in Nurnberg Germany, where he met and married his beautiful wife of almost 58 years in 1963. Returning to the United States, he became an Aeronautical Engineer working for Grumman until his retirement in 2000.

A long time resident of Smithtown, and faithful parishioner of Sts. Phillip and James RCC, Giacomo was a loving son, husband, father, father-in-law and friend. He is survived by his wife Karin Consenz; his daughters, Angela Consenz (Kelapire) of Huntington, NY and Nicole Consenz (Quinn) of Nocatee, FL and four grandchildren Ryan, Douglas, Brandon, and Jordan.

Giacomo had a heart of gold and a beautiful soul who was quick to laugh and tell a joke. He was at his happiest when he was playing with his grandchildren, spending time with family and friends, traveling, gardening, or watching his beloved Mets baseball team.  While he will be missed each and every day, we are comforted knowing he has gone home to be with our Lord, and we will one day be reunited with him.
