Gilda “Jill” Sammarco, 88, passed away on Tuesday, October 7th in Fort Myers, Florida. Jill was born May 23rd, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York. She met her future husband and lifelong partner Robert “Bob” on Coney Island. They were married for 67 years until his passing in 2023. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah, Barbara, Victoria, and Denise; sons-in-law, Frank, Bob, and Shannon; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kevin, Christina, Alyssa, Austin, Sean, Tyler, and Jamie; and her great-grandson, Theo.
Jill was a homemaker who loved sewing and sewed clothes for her daughters and friends. She was also a passionate home cook and her love for cooking was passed down to her daughters, along with her famous recipes for stuffed mushrooms, meatballs, and sauce. She enjoyed music by Paul Anka and Billy Ocean and would often have dance parties with her daughters in the living room when they were children. Jill took great joy in spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
