Glen Joseph Stollberger, age 43, passed away early Friday morning, November 14, 2025, after a courageous journey with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones.
A life is not measured by days but by moments, memories, and the chances we take.
Glen was born on June 7, 1982, in Smithtown, NY to parents Chris & Joan Stollberger. His sister, Sara, came along a few years later - a new friend and gaming companion. Glen’s passion for comedy started early; by age 7 he was already impersonating popular comedians. He was also often found either building intricate Lego worlds or near the TV with his Nintendo controller in hand, hopping around as Mario did.
Glen was a Boy Scout his entire youth and attained the highest rank of Eagle Scout at age 17. His project of building a turtle enclosure still stands in Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown. Glen always had a fondness for reptiles.
As he got older, Glen’s comedy ambitions came out - inspired by his love of Weird Al, he wrote several song parodies - some winning competitions. You can still see his work at amiright.com; link is listed below. He was even brave enough to perform at open mics on his school campus and in New York City.
Glen graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with a degree in cinema and cultural studies. He attained his Masters Degree at SUNY ESF (Environmental Science and Forestry). Glen loved the outdoors and this led him to a call to service - AmeriCorps - environmental conservation programs across the country. He served in Montana, Vermont, the Delaware Water Gap, and Virginia.
Life brought Glen to Clever Devices, where he went on to become a well-respected Data Systems Manager, directing several different teams. He worked with Clever for 17 years.
Glen’s world opened up when he met Stacy Blair in 2008. They were married on April 16, 2011. The two enjoyed mini getaways, sushi dinners, movies, and general silliness. But Glen’s greatest purpose was becoming a father. That became clear when they welcomed their sons, Francis “Frankie” Stollberger and James Stollberger. Some of their favorite spots included Stony Brook Beach and Acadia National Park. They enjoyed family hiking, playing games such as Carcassonne and Minecraft, and exploring.
Glen never let this disease define him - he lived well, he lived with a grateful heart, and he always brought his joyful and kind spirit everywhere he went. Glen found strength in the Lord and grew into his faith. He found encouragement in his study of the Word and the relationships that he formed through the men’s group at Grace Church. Glen shared his testimony earlier this year, shared here at the 1:11:08 mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yn33qu7cLI&t=4265s
His journey shaped him, strengthened him, and, in his final months, it was Glen who consoled and comforted all of us. Glen will always carry on in our hearts through his faith, his words, his wisdom, and through his reflection in his sons. Glen will always be with us.
