Gudys Vinces, age 84, of Portoviejo, Ecuador, passed away Tuesday, February 2nd at her daughter’s residence in Stony Brook.
She was born on November 1, 1936 in Portoviejo, Ecuador to Francisco Vinces and Zoraida Mendoza.
Gudys was a devoted, loving and supportive daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She emigrated to the United States and settled in Washington Heights, NY in 1963. She raised her five children in Corona, NY. Gudys worked at the World Trade Center for almost 25 years and retired in 2000.
Gudys is survived by one son and four daughters, Victor Hugo, Martha, Betty, Monica and Maritza, ten grandchildren, Katherine, Marjorie, Cynthia, Emmanuel, Victor, Andres, Paola, Daniel, Ethan and Kyle and nine great grandchildren, Anthony, Maya, Damon, Gabriela, Michael, Emilia, Lucas, Max and Catalina. She is also survived by her siblings, Tito Vinces and Anita Chávez and leaves behind many family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
