Harriet Murphy, an illustrious, kind-hearted, accomplished 79 year old mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and foster mother, passed away at St. Charles hospice in peace. Harriet Murphy raised 4 beautiful daughters and lived a fulfilling life cruising the world with her sister Zelma. She participated in all facets of her children’s lives, after school activities, college visits, and family vacations all while still making time to manage her self-made arts & crafts. Harriet was a head nurse at St. Charles hospital. She was well known and loved for her hard work and dedication to her team and patients. After getting injured on the job, she devoted her life to changing the lives of foster children. Over the years, this includes: dance classes, summer camps, and holiday events / arts & crafts. There was never a dull moment. Harriet’s warm presence amongst the family and community will always be engraved in each and every one of us, and she will never be forgotten.
