We are saddened to announce the passing of Helen Purcaro, who passed away peacefully in her home at 95 years old. Helen, born Helen Martinelli, on May 28, 1925, in Brooklyn, New York, was the youngest girl of 11 siblings. Helen worked at a law firm in Manhattan before falling in love and marrying her beloved husband Leo, whom she remained married to until his passing in 1995. Helen is survived by her sons and daughter in laws, Lee, Ronald and Josephine, Thomas and Marion and Robert and Carolyn. Helen was a beloved grandmother to Lauren, Ronald, Robert, Dana, Christine, Julia, Leo and the late Paul as well as great-grandmother to Henry. Helen lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, dressing up, nights out on the town dancing, baking cookies with her grandchildren and a good scotch on the rocks. Helen will be dearly missed by many who will continue to cherish her memory.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Helen’s name.
