James Saladino, 74, passed away peacefully in his home after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease on January 17, 2022. He was raised in Lake Ronkonkoma along with his sister Vivian and brother Phillip. Jim was proud to serve his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War as a radio operator in the tank division. After returning from Vietnam, he met the love of his life, Noreen. They moved to Holtsville, where he spent most of his life, raising his three children, Jim, Keri and Kristy. He worked for NYC Sanitation for 30 years, retiring in 2009. He was an avid music lover, car enthusiast, and loved dancing and spending time with his family. He especially cherished the time he spent with his seven grandchildren; James, Brianna, Kaylee, Patrick, Ryan, Diana and Nicole.
He is survived by his devoted wife Noreen, his children and their spouses; Jim and Stacey Saladino, Keri and Patrick McGinness, and Kristy and Nick Bauer.
In retirement, Jim volunteered many hours at the Long Island State Veteran's Home in Stony Brook, where he socialized and entertained his fellow Veterans. He was proud to spend time with those brave men and women who have helped to make our nation secure.
