Obituary & Remembrance
Jeanette Salva, age 46, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20th 2025 at HCA Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville FL after a 7 month battle with Guillain-Barré syndrome. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she took her final breaths.
Jeanette was born in Brooklyn NY on August 14th 1978 to Rodolfo and Doris Cruz. She was a loving mother to her four children Tiffany Phillip, Alex Salva, Daniel Salva and Gabriel De Leon; proud grandmother to Austin Jr. and Alaia Phillip (her “baby cakes” as she would say); the eldest of 5 siblings Edwing Cruz, Viviana Rodriguez, Cindy Villalobos and Brian Cruz; aunt to 11 wonderful nieces and nephews; and beloved fiancée to Daniel Melendez.
Jeanette enjoyed traveling, music, dancing, cooking, and hosting family gatherings in her beautiful home of Punta Gorda FL. She especially loved spending time in the kitchen cooking meals full of so much love for her family and friends. Her kind heart and joyful spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Jeanette’s family and friends will always remember her as a true warrior and role model to those around her. She was a loving, dedicated and hardworking individual who always put the needs of others ahead of her own. Jeanette’s personality and infectious laugh brought warmth to all who knew her and her passing will be mourned deeply. She has left us with so many beloved memories that we will cherish forever.
