We lovingly remember Joan Marie Condolff, who passed away on August 2, 2022 at age 86 at her residence in Smithtown, NY. Joan was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. Joan was born on April 19, 1936 in Long Island City, NY to Francis and Johanna Gilleran (nee Donohue), and graduated from Dominican Commercial High School in Jamaica, NY. She attended St. John’s University and was later employed by Continental Can Company in New York. Joan was a long-time resident of St. James, and faithful parishioner of Sts. Phillip and James RCC for over fifty years where she taught religious education. Joan was a loving mother who dedicated herself to family, and when her children were older she returned to work as an Executive Assistant to the Director of Stony Brook University Hospital, and then later as a Court Reporter in Suffolk County Surrogates and Family Court in Riverhead, NY where she retired as a NYS court officer. Joan was proud of her Irish heritage, loved bird watching and nature walks, and enjoyed daily walks around her St. James neighborhood. She is pre-deceased by her husband of sixty-two years Edward J. Condolff, and two brothers Francis M. Gilleran and John J. Gilleran. Joan is survived by her children James (Maura) of Port Chester, NY, Joseph (Samantha) of Centerport, NY, and Jeanne (James) Wu of Allentown, PA; and four grandchildren Catherine, Megan, Thomas and Matthew, and numerous nieces and nephews.
