Joan M. Stampfel

Joan M. Stampfel, 97 years, of Saint James, formerly of Seaford, NY and Allentown, PA, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Henry L. Stampfel for 65 years.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert Stears and Ella Mae (Covert) Stears.

She enjoyed cooking and crocheting, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by 5 children, Lorraine (Tom) Rao, Maureen (Wayne) Maskill, Henry (Anne) Stampfel, Tim (Sheree) Stampfel, Nadine (Todd) Rizzuto, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She also leaves behind her siblings Ralph (Joan) Stears and Alice Kaziun.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 13, 2025, from 3–8 PM at St. James Funeral Home,

829 Middle Country Rd, Route 25, St. James, NY.

A funeral mass will be celebrated. Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Sts. Philip & James at 10:15 AM.

Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
