John was born and raised in Sunnyside Queens, NY on May 24th, 1941, to James and Kitty Ebbecke. He enjoyed a happy upbringing with his older brother Donald.
John took to the world of finance. He met his wife Adele while working at a bank in Manhattan.
John and Adele were happily married for 58 years.
John is survived by his wife Adele, his son John (Catherine), his son Michael (Allison), his son Brian (Catherine), his son Kevin (Becca), and his daughter Judith (Jeff). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Cayla (John), Cerra (Adam), Brianna, Caitlyn, Heather, Peyton, Dillon, Aiden, Maverick, Emily, and George. John was a brother-in-law to Maryann, Elaine, and Bob. He was also an amazing uncle to his nieces and nephews: Debbie, Jamie, Kelly, Kerry, DJ, Courtney, Danny, Lauren, Robert, and Christian.
John served his country in the Army and spent many happy years in the Stony Brook Volunteer Fire Department. John was a religion teacher for children in the neighborhood. He was also known for being a master of the BBQ at his famous 4th of July parties.
