We sadly announce the passing of John “Jack” Pell, Jr., husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.
Jack was born and raised in Brooklyn New York to parents John and Frances. Jack graduated from Brooklyn Tech and began a job at John F. Swift and Company. It was there that he met his wife, Anne Pius Pell. Their first date was at the last Sunday game of the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field. They began their 61 year marriage on September 10, 1960.
They moved to Saint James, New York in 1968. Jack set up a wood shop in the basement of their home and continued his love of woodworking. His second love, Lionel Trains, came alive during the holiday season, where in the same basement he set up a village around which his childhood trains would run.
After his retirement, he joined the Board of Directors for their community. Jack and Anne traveled and enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his wife, Anne. Jack is survived by his children Jeanne Sandler, Lauraine Pell-Yee and John Pell III (Lisa), grandchildren Danielle, William, Jacque Moon, Hannah, Jude, and Jack, and great grandchildren Sari and Sophie.
