Joseph L. Ferrara
January 16, 1943 – January 16, 2026
Joseph Ferrara passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, on his 83rd birthday. Born on January 16, 1943, Joseph lived a full life defined by devotion to his family, faith, quiet strength, and enduring love.
Joseph was the beloved husband of Louise Ferrara, with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership and memories. He was a devoted father to his children: Donna; Joseph and his wife Kathy; Joanne and her husband John; and Anthony and his wife Melissa. His greatest pride was his family, and he found immense joy in being surrounded by them.
He was a cherished grandfather to Christopher and his fiancé Brittany; Matthew; Samantha and her husband Dakota; Dominic; Nicholas and his fiancé Kayleigh; Jesse; Julia; Anthony Jr.; Elizabeth; and Michael. Joseph’s legacy lives on through each of them, in the values he instilled and the love he gave so freely.
Joseph proudly served his community as a member of the New York City Police Department, a career that reflected his strong sense of duty, integrity, and commitment to others. His work with the NYPD was a source of pride throughout his life and exemplified the values he carried both on and off the job.
Outside of his family and career, Joseph had a lifelong love of baseball and was a devoted New York Yankees fan. Whether watching a game, following the season, or sharing his passion for the Yankees with family and friends, baseball was one of his greatest joys.
Joseph will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his steady presence, and the quiet wisdom he shared with those closest to him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family unity that will continue for generations.
He will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
