Obituary

Lisa M Apadula, 53, of Smithtown, passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2023.

Lisa was born on June 8, 1970 to Frank and Camille Murabito of Glendale, New York.  During her childhood, Lisa was a member of a close-knit family.  She enjoyed annual vacations where she learned to swim, fish and horseback ride.  She was a natural at everything she did, always making it look easy.  Her favorite childhood memories stemmed from the time she spent with the family at a guest ranch in rural Montana.  She often spoke fondly about it and stated that they were the best memories of her youth.

After going to private elementary school in Queens, NY, Lisa attended St. Francis Preparatory School in 1984, and then went on to study merchandising at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

In 1985, Lisa met Luciano Apadula in Manhattan, NY.  Lisa and Luciano went on to marry and have one child, Luca.

After graduating with a degree in fashion merchandising, she started her first job at a bridal shop in Ridgewood, NY as a salesperson, kickstarting a career in retail sales and merchandising.  Together with her husband Luciano and his business partner Charlie Munch, they opened The Greenhouse Antiques and Collectibles in Saint James, New York in 2013.

Lisa was creative, warm and friendly and had a smile that could light up a room.  She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, fly fishing and the outdoors.   She was a very caring person that was a pillar of support for her family and friends.   She never judged people and respected their decisions.  Always more concerned about the feelings of others than herself.  Lisa somehow found the time to go shopping for her parents, handle household and business finances, and spend quality time with her son.  An amazing organizer, that got things done and didn’t sweat the details.

Lisa loved to laugh.  You always felt welcome around her and just spending time with her put you in a good mood.  She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend and will be greatly missed by all.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Luciano; their son, Luca; parents, Camille and Frank and brother, Richard.

In lieu of flowers, Lisa would have preferred that you give your loved ones a hug and enjoy each and every day with them.
