Margaret Burney

Margaret (Peggy) Burney (nee Harris) was born in New York City on December 24, 1923.  She grew up on Manhattan’s West Side and met her future husband, Bill, at the age of 15. They married in 1946 and moved to Smithtown in 1957 where they raised their 6 children.  She was widowed in 2017 after 71 years of marriage to Bill. She was a wonderful grandmother to 11 and great grandmother to 15.  Peggy was a full-time mother, homemaker, and an avid bowler into her mid 80’s.  Her greatest joy was spending time with family.
